Metamorphosis - The Transformation Wars
Below is the setting for both Metamorphosis, my Transformation Card Game.

It has been almost ten years now since the beginning of the Morphosis Wars, the name given to the series of conflicts that has consumed the 'Secret Realms' of magic and monsters. The sudden shift in magical power gave rise to the 'Transformation Artists', those who can use their powers to change or 'transform' themselves and others.


In recent years, seven distinct factions have risen to try and secure control of the Secret Realms:

Mansion ~ A syndicate that seeks to harness magic as a means of dominating not just the Secret Realms, but Earth as well.
Favoured Transformations: Inanimate

PHARM ~ A company that researches the fusion of man and beast, particularly through technology and medicine.
Favoured Transformations: Animal

Deep Ones ~ Those who dwell in the shadow and draw their powers directly from the creatures that lurk in the darkest reaches of the sea... and space.
Favoured Transformations: Monstrous

Order of Olympus ~ The arch-foes of the Deep Ones, they serve the Old Gods and seek to return balance to the world - one way or another.
Favoured Transformations: Mythological

Doll INC ~ A company that seeks to capitalize on magic as a resource for entertainment and personal use.
Favoured Transformations: Physical


In addition to these factions and neutral 'Mercenaries', there is a unaligned group of Artists who provide artefacts, magical arms, equipment and items to all sides of the War. These stores appear in many different forms and are scattered across the world, known collectively as Discordia Emporiums. Always willing to make a profit, these stores, stalls and markets are also willing to cater to all those who are lucky (or unlucky) enough to discover their existence...
